The national government has set a target of 100,000 doses for Ilocos Norte as part of its three-day “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” campaign to increase immunization coverage in the country.
The National COVID-19 Vaccination Days started today and will end on December 1, 2021.
In addition, the massive vaccination drive has a nationwide goal of nine (9) million doses.
According to Dr. Josephine Ruedas, Provincial Health Officer, their Office has a target of 2,500 doses from November 29 to December 1.
“The PHO would simply augment local government units’ (LGUs) vaccination so that we can meet the national government’s target doses for Ilocos Norte,” she explained.
“Bawal po muna ang walk-in. Kailangan magparehistro upang hindi magkulang ang vaccines kasi may target ang bawat LGU,” Dr. Ruedas continued.
Pfizer doses are currently being administered to Ilocos Norte’s pediatric population. Meanwhile, overseas Filipino Workers who require vaccinations and other priority groups are accommodated, too.
Dr. Ruedas reminded parents that if they are unable to accompany their children on their immunization schedule, they must provide a written consent. “Please lang po kahit may kasamang guardians ang ating mga anak, kailangan pa rin po ng consent mula sa mga magulang. Ito po ang ating patakaran— birth certificate, valid ID ng magulang, at kahit written consent lang mula sa inyo.”
She also thanked the Ilokano community’s support in the “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” campaign, as well as the other allied services that ensured the seamless operation of the ongoing massive vaccination drive.
