Authorities seized at least 15 grams of shabu valued at P102,000 concealed on a mongo beans-filled ecobag due to be sent via a public utility vehicle in Tabuk City, Kalinga on Tuesday night.
Cordillera police director Brig. General Ronald Lee said Tabuk City policemen received a call from the driver of a public utility vehicle that he found suspected shabu while checking on a package requested for shipment outside Tabuk City.
Policemen were dispatched to check in front of Montessori Building, Purok 3, Bulanao Norte, Tabuk City, and found a big heat sealed plastic transparent sachet containing shabu mixed with mongo beans, wrapped with transparent cellophane and placed inside a blue eco bag.
Police however did not disclose the consignee neither the consignor of the package while further investigation was launched to nail down on the culprits.
The contraband was inventoried to become an evidence against whoever the police would uncover in their further probe.
Kalinga police chief Col. Peter Tagtag Jr. hailed the support of villagers in Tuesday’s successful seizure of the shabu that foiled it reaching the market.
