Just this part Saturday, August 3, the 13 candidates of Miss Baguio 2024 faces the media as they also courageously answered timely questions.

The game is on for the 13 candidates of Miss Universe Philippines Baguio 2024.

The competition is stepping up this year, following the success of Miss Baguio for three consecutive years.

With Miss Universe Philippines, there’s a top 10 namely Miss Charm, and Miss Supranational, but this year, the aims is to capture the Miss Universe Philippines title.

“They are who we are as a city here in Baguio,” says Engr. Alec Mapalo, City Tourism Office.

Despite this, the candidates remained all smiles and gracious under pressure as they faced the media.

Here, their personalities and wit were scrutinized as they answered timely issues.

One of the returning candidates is 25 year old pageant veteran Gwendoline Soriano from Bakakeng Central.

“I guess it’s important. Alongside this, we, as beauty queens, also play a role,” says Gwendoline Meliz Soriano, representative of Bakakeng Central.

Also joining this batch is air force reservist and educator Dawn from Brookside.

“I joined three years ago. I am more prepared now than I was three years ago,” says Ma. Dawn Rozeal Castillo, representative of Brookside.

This edition of Miss Universe Philippines Baguio became even more exciting because it’s double the fun, and double the competition with the entry of 19 year old twin sisters from Irisan.

Even though they are direct competitors, they say their support for each other remains strong.

“Her support, that’s our edge. And I am proud to say that,” said Carla Stephanie Tilap, representative of Irisan.

“It creates a unique bond. You know, as twins, we are inseparable. We are in this together,” Nicolle Antonette Tilap, also a representative of Irisan, added.

The wheel is still turning for the candidates as they prepare for various activities leading up to the much-awaited final showdown for the Miss Baguio title today, August 30.
