Blood stained the road at Kilometer 5, Asin Road, Baguio City.
The blood came from a 21-year-old man who was stabbed by two men in the middle of the road around 12:30 in the morning last October 2.
The crime started from a road rage incident.
“This driver of a Mitsubishi SUV and a taxi driver had a road rage incident, and allegedly, the taxi driver, who was with a passenger, was under the influence of liquor,” PMaj. Harriet Bulcio, Spokesperson of Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) narrated.
When they reached the crime scene, the taxi driver confronted the 21-year-old victim, and this led to a challenge.
“They had an argument, which escalated into a physical altercation, leading to the stabbing of the victim,” says Bulcio.
In the video, the suspects can be seen fleeing while the victim lies bleeding on the road.
This man immediately helped the victim and rushed him to the hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.
The suspects surrendered to the police at around 3 in the morning in the same day and admitted to the crime.
They are currently detained at BCPO Station 9 but refused to give any statement.
It could have helped if the BCPO had alcohol breath analyzers available to prevent incidents caused by drunk driving.
Unfortunately, the city government has yet to acquire such equipment.
The suspects will be facing murder charges.
