Three passengers were injured after a passenger bus lost control and crashed into a parked truck along Marcos Highway in Barangay Poblacion, Tuba, Benguet, on the night of April 6.
The incident was captured on CCTV.
According to police investigators, the bus was on its way to La Union when it suddenly lost control, slid across the road, and rammed into a wing van truck parked on the roadside.
PSSg. Tyren Sugueran of the Tuba Municipal Police Station said the road was slippery due to light rain earlier that evening, which likely contributed to the driver losing control of the steering wheel. “The bus overshot into the opposite lane and hit the uphill-bound truck,” he explained.
Three out of the 26 passengers sustained injuries and were immediately given medical attention.
The driver and the helper of the parked truck were unharmed.
Authorities confirmed that the bus company took responsibility for the incident, covering both the medical treatment of the injured passengers and the repair of the damaged truck.
No formal complaints were filed.
