One of Governor Ramon V. Guico III’s priorities remains the improvement of the health sector, which includes the welfare of persons with disabilities (PWDs).
Fifty PWDs from Pangasinan underwent a wheelchair assessment.
This took place on October 18 at the Urdaneta City District Hospital.
According to the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center, customized assistive devices like wheelchairs are a great help to PWDs, especially in their daily activities.
Aside from the assessments, there was also a feeding program via the Guicosina on Wheels initiative.
PWDs expressed their gratitude for the assistance.
The program was implemented under the leadership of the Provincial Government, in partnership with the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), Provincial Disability Affairs Office, Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center, and the First Spouses League of Pangasinan, led by First Lady Maan Tuazon-Guico.
Meanwhile, through the successful coordination of Governor Ramon V. Guico III with the National Housing Authority, nine fire-affected families from Asingan, Pozorrubio, and Urdaneta City received financial aid.
Each family received 20,000 pesos in financial assistance through the National Housing Authority’s Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP).
The program aims to help families recover from various calamities.
The distribution of financial assistance was attended by First Spouses League of Pangasinan Chairperson Maan Tuazon-Guico, Provincial Administrator Melicio Patague II, and PSWDO.
