At first glance, you might think it’s just a simple traditional house, but did you know it’s 50 years old?
This house came all the way from Kabayan, Benguet, and it’s their entry for the Agri-Tourism Fair, representing 13 towns of Benguet in the celebration of the Adivay Festival.
Each town features its distinct products here, but due to Typhoon Pepito’s devastation in the province, the town of Itogon struggled to find vegetables to sell at their booth.
It was difficult to find vegetables to display because the farmers’ crops were destroyed by the typhoon.
This also reflects the challenges faced by the agricultural sector in Benguet.
Other towns are also showcasing their products, such as smoked meat, handicrafts, vegetables, clothing, and more.
There’s also a display of traditional tools used by the Ibaloi, such as the Teshong, a rain protector.
The Agri-Tourism Fair will be at Wangal Sports Complex, La Trinidad, Benguet, until December 4.
This is part of the celebration of Adivay 2024, with the theme “Embracing Our Heritage, Co-Creating a Healthier Benguet.”
