A 60-year-old woman was injured after the car she was driving collided with a parked truck along a curved portion of the road in Barangay Camp 7, Baguio City, on Wednesday afternoon, January 14.
The accident happened shortly after 5:20 p.m., leaving the front portion of the truck heavily damaged.
A resident, Willy Lopez, said he heard a loud crash and went outside to check what happened.
“I heard a strong impact. When I went out, I saw that a car had hit the parked truck downhill,” he said.
Because of the force of the collision, the woman briefly lost consciousness.
Baguio City Police Office Public Information Officer PMaj. Marcy Grace Marron said the driver was heading toward the city proper via Camp 7 when the crash occurred.
“She was on her way to the city when she reached the area and collided with the truck,” Marron said.
Lopez added that when they checked on the driver, she complained of dizziness.
“I asked her if she had vertigo and she said she was feeling dizzy,” he said.
Residents also noted that the truck is often parked in the area, as the owner’s house is nearby, although only for short periods.
The woman was reported to be in stable condition, and the incident was later settled amicably between the parties.
Police records show that the case is the 37th vehicular traffic incident recorded in Baguio City for the first month of 2026.
Meanwhile, another accident was reported in Barangay Poblacion, Kapangan, Benguet, where an AUV crashed into a canal after hitting a concrete parapet.
Kapangan Fire Station duty officer SF03 Rodelio Manuel said the vehicle bounced after hitting the parapet before falling into the canal.
No injuries were reported in the second incident.
