Sandi Menchi Abahan ruled the female side of the 50K Borneo Trail Classic last October 15-16 in Bau, Malaysia.
Abahan clocked eight hours 40 minutes and 10 seconds to rule the 30-39 age old category as well as the distaff side of the race which is part of the Spartan Trail World Championship series which has nine events in five continents.
Abahan outran her fellow competitor in her age category where the nearest runner behind her was 2:49:11 behind, Siao Ai Lim, while third placer Zuharniza Juniata placed third in said age category with a time of 13:2729.
Shameira Auther topped the female 20-29 category with a time of 10:57.50 to finish second over-all in the female side, while Ellie Pang clocked 11:57.44 to finish second in the said age category and fourh over-all in the female side.
Fellow Filipino John Ray Onifa checked in at 6:13.24 to top the men’s 30-39 cateogry and the over-all winner in men’ competition. Kipchirchir Lei clocked 6:37.40 to rule the men’s 20-29 and second over-all.
Aqmal Artzmi came in third over-all and second in the 30-39 age category with clocking of 7:40.44, followed by 20-29 bridesmaid Bililign Ali (8:00.42), while Simon Rotich came in at 8:55.30 to take fifth place in the men’s side, third in the 30-39 age category but behind the Filipina bet formerly from the University of the Cordilleras, whose clocking put her fifth over-all.
