Pidigan, Abra lass Robby Dominique Valera amazed the judges of the TV5’s Born to be a Star and advanced to the second round of the singing contest last Saturday.
The 18-year old daughter of Pidigan mayor Domino Valera earned the nods of show judges Andrew E, Pops Fernandez, Aiza Seguerra, Rico Blanco and Sam Concepcion.
The Abra Government Facebook page on Sunday praised the Valera scion for her feat in the singing competition. It said: “Five stars for Obay (her nickname) as she amazed the judges with her rap composition during the first round of TV5’s Born to be a Star competition last night.”
It added: “Being qualified for the second round, she felt thankful and proud to have a chance to represent Abra.”
“She makes us proud,” Gov. Jocelyn Bernos messaged RNG Luzon. The governor is sister to her dad, children of Bangued, Abra mayor Dominic and vice mayor Mila.
The first year college student even rapped with judge Andrew E, probably the Philippines most popular rapper, en route to obtaining the nods of all the judges, among the country’s top singers.
“Three weeks ka na naming inabangan… at kagabi napanood ka na namin. Galing galing mo ading! God bless! Sana Manalo ka (We waited for you for three weeks… and last night we saw you. You are so good young sister. God bless! Hopefully you will win,” Facebook user MarkQuesa Etnasis commented.
Netizen Dan Miko San Roque said after learning that she is the daughter of the Pidigan mayor said: “No wonder with her looks… may sinasabi [she is something]… a pride indeed of Abra. I hope to watch her soon in the kawayan festival of Abra .”
Hosted by Matteo Guidicelli and Kim Molina, the Viva co-produced singing competition is aired on the tv network’s Saturday primetime slot of 7 PM replacing Masked Singer Pilipinas.
