To boost the province’s agricultural sector, First Spouses League Chairperson Maan Tuazon-Guico personally led the distribution of farming inputs to Indigenous People (IP) and farmers in Pangasinan’s 2nd and 5th districts.
Tuazon-Guico and her team visited Sitio Mapita, Barangay Laoag in Aguilar on March 27 to provide agricultural inputs and farm equipment to the local IP community.
The initiative aims to improve their livelihood, particularly in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAs).
Officials from the First Spouses League emphasized that the program reflects their commitment to supporting Indigenous communities.
With the distributed farm supplies and training sessions, beneficiaries are expected to enhance their agricultural productivity using modern techniques.
Meanwhile, under the Provincial Corporate Farming Program, the provincial government also provided farming inputs to farmers in the 5th district.
This initiative focuses on modernizing agriculture through technology and farm mechanization.
Tuazon-Guico, along with provincial officials, personally handed out the assistance.
The program is expected to increase farmers’ income and improve food security in Pangasinan by enhancing their production capacity.
Authorities hope that these efforts will lead to long-term improvements in the province’s agricultural sector and uplift the livelihood of farmers and Indigenous communities.
