Congressional candidate Atty. Nicasio Aliping Jr. started his campaign with a visit to the Baguio City Public Market on the first day of the local campaign period.
Before heading to the market, Aliping attended a morning Mass with his wife and supporters.
He shared that he prayed for guidance and wisdom as he embarks on his bid to return to Congress.
After the church visit, Aliping and his team proceeded to the public market, where he personally greeted vendors and market-goers.
He reiterated his desire to serve Baguio once again as its congressional representative.
Market vendors welcomed him warmly, shaking his hand and engaging in brief conversations.
Engineer Salino Banta, one of Aliping’s supporters, expressed his continued trust in the former congressman, calling him one of the most competent leaders to have served the city.
Banta also urged Aliping to take a strong stand against the privatization of the public market, a concern shared by many vendors.
Aliping assured the public that addressing market privatization and other key issues will be part of his legislative priorities if elected.
He also vowed to continue programs he initiated during his term from 2013 to 2016 while adapting to the evolving needs of the city and its residents.
