In a series of raids by the PDEA and PNP in the Cordillera’s marijuana plantations, they still find it difficult to capture cultivators.
Throughout the Cordillera region, three provinces remain under close watch due to the continuing growth of marijuana plantations.
On November 12, the Benguet Police Provincial Office and PDEA Cordillera launched joint raids on six separate marijuana plantations in Benguet.
In Kibungan town, four plantations were discovered, with 1,150 fully grown marijuana plants and 375 seedlings uprooted and burned, amounting to a total value of 245,000 pesos.
In Bakun town, a plantation was discovered in Barangay Kayapa through combined operations of the Bakun MPS, PDEU, Provincial Intelligence Unit of Benguet PPO, RIU-14, and PDEA-CAR.
The total value of all seized marijuana plants is 445,000 pesos, and these were immediately uprooted and burned by authorities.
Investigations continue to identify the cultivators and locate additional marijuana plantations in nearby areas.
