AUTHORITIES, HUNT BAGUIO CITY VANDALISM SUSPECT

BY: VANESSA BUGTONG

Baguio City authorities are searching for the suspect behind a series of vandalism incidents targeting nine vehicles in Barangay Guisad Central.

The incidents, caught on CCTV, occurred in the early hours of March 8.

Surveillance footage shows two men walking along a street before entering a narrow alley. Three minutes later, they emerge, leaving behind several defaced vehicles.

One of the affected vehicles belongs to Barangay Councilor Gabriel G. On-onod Jr., who chairs the Peace and Order Committee.

He reported that his car was initially marked with lines, but later, “NPA” was written on the side.

“I was relieved that the markings were removed. Otherwise, it would have cost me around 13,000 pesos to have it fixed,” On-onod said.

Barangay officials believe the same individuals are responsible for multiple incidents in different locations.

“It seems like the same person did this because the CCTV footage only shows them in the area,” Barangay Captain Marion Bundad stated.

Authorities are coordinating with neighboring barangays to identify the suspects and are increasing security measures, especially since there have been other car vandalism and break-in incidents nearby.
