University of Baguio freshman Iñigo Navarrete-Anton was victorious in all three races of the inaugural leg of the SeaOl Radical Challenge, which is dubbed as the fastest race series in the region, held in Clark International Speedway last August 26-28, 2022.
It was a perfect race weekend for the 18-year-old Motul factory driver who qualified in pole position and took a commanding lead in all the races against a number of well-known names in Philippine motorsport such as Stefan Ramirez de Arellano, Mark Bumgarner and Jason Chuachuy. Radical Racing Academy graduate Brian Poe- Llamanzares, son of Senator Grace Poe, was also part of the grid.
Motorsport Director of Radical Cars Philippines, legendary Filipino racer Marlon Stockinger is proud to say that Radical PH has now officially marked its spot on the map as one of the 14 race series around the globe in line with Radical Motorsport’s “Race The World” initiative. It is a one make race using the British-built radical cars where racers will compete in a total of 3 legs. The 2022 season will feature three race weekends with each weekend following a three-day format similar to Formula 1. The second leg will be held in the Batangas Racing Circuit and the third one will have another thrilling weekend in Clark International Speedway.
“It is certainly an honor to be racing in the inaugural season of Radical PH alongside seasoned racers and I would like to thank my team, MOTUL Philippines Infiniteserv, my sponsors Parts Pro racing and Yokohama Philippines, the Baguio community and my family for continuing to support me and help me realize my dreams. I am grateful to Marlon Stockinger for mentoring me and for paving the way for other Filipino racers. I will continue to do my best to make all of you proud,” said Baguio boy Iñigo Anton after his dominant win in the 1st leg of the series.
In addition to his clean sweep in the Radical races, Anton also clinched top spot in the Philippine Grand Touring Championships (PGTC) held in the same weekend using his Honda EK prepared by Mark Young Racing x Cars Unlimited. Anton now leads in the championship points in the top class of the PGTC.
