Baguio Tourism Council Invites Barangays to Join the ‘Bituin ng Pasko: Inter-Barangay Holiday Decor Contest’

Baguio City – The Baguio Tourism Council, led by Chair Gladys Vergara, is calling on all barangays in the city to participate in the Bituin ng Pasko: Inter-Barangay Holiday Decor Contest, an exciting and festive competition that forms part of the An Enchanting Baguio Christmas events calendar. The contest aims to showcase the creativity, unity, and Christmas spirit of Baguio’s communities, while highlighting sustainable practices through beautifully illuminated displays.

Vergara emphasized that the competition is not just about decor but about fostering community pride and spreading the holiday cheer throughout the city. “This project of barangay involvement will definitely enhance the festive atmosphere of the Christmas season, adding to the vibrancy of the city landscape and encouraging broad participation in the Yuletide celebrations,” she said.

The Bituin ng Pasko: Inter-Barangay Holiday Decor Contest is designed to celebrate the holiday season by inviting all barangays to creatively express their festive spirit through Christmas Trees, Nativity Scenes (Belen), and Christmas Lanterns (Parol). These three elements must be installed in prominent public spaces within each barangay and illuminated throughout the night from December 5 to January 4. Illumination plays a central role in this contest, symbolizing the light and hope that Christmas brings to all.
