Heavy traffic has always been part of Baguio City’s bustling tourism scene.
For Kath’s family, their first-time trip to the city was a pleasant experience.
Rudy, a 25-year-old from Aklan, shared his strategy to avoid traffic.
With the Panagbenga Festival approaching, the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) is preparing for the influx of vehicles and tourists.
To ensure public safety, BCPO plans to heighten security measures, particularly in crowded areas.
A major challenge, however, is monitoring and managing traffic.
Their solution? A new traffic-monitoring application.
With this application, it will be easier to identify areas with heavy traffic.
Roads marked in red indicate slow-moving vehicles.
Unlike other navigation apps used by motorists, BCPO claims this application also tracks parking availability and monitors crowd density at tourist spots.
The application was developed in December 2024 after extensive studies on the city’s traffic patterns.
With these preparations, authorities are confident that Panagbenga 2025 will be orderly, clean, and peaceful.
