Since the start of the campaign period, George Mendoza Punasen has visited eight towns in Benguet.
He personally goes to each barangay to discuss not only his advocacies but also his platforms aimed at improving the lives of Benguet residents.
Some of the areas he has visited include Pukitan Lepanto, Bagu, Sinacbat in Bakun, Balakbak in Kapangan, Upper Ambiong, Tadiangan in Tuba, among others.
This, according to Punasen, is the best way to see and hear directly from the residents about their concerns.
“By seeing the situation firsthand, you get a clear understanding of what can be done to improve the lives of these people,” said Punasen. “Your mere presence, going to the grassroots, shows them that you care, and that you are giving attention to their needs.”
One of the key issues Punasen has identified is the lack of accessible healthcare programs.
“Given the distance of some areas in Benguet, government services are often inaccessible, especially when it comes to medical assistance,” he explained. “This is something we need to bring closer to the people in remote areas.”
With only 30 days left before the May elections, Punasen aims to visit every village, especially those in the remote barangays, across the 13 towns of the province.
