BOTANICAL CHRISTMAS GARDEN, LIGHTS UP

The Baguio Botanical Garden is one of the iconic tourist spots in Baguio City.

However, it is expected to draw even more visitors with the lighting of the Botanical Christmas Garden, an annual tradition by the city government during Christmas.

Last night, November 21, it lit up as the garden was officially illuminated.

“The faith, hope, and love theme is inspired by a song, it’s the theme of Christmas,” said Atty. Rhenan Diwas, Chief of the City Environment and Parks Management Office (CEPMO).

It immediately attracted tourists like Beth and Rogin from Bulacan.

“It’s beautiful. It’s captivating, it relieves stress,” said Beth Berador, tourist.

To make their visit memorable, they took photos in this colorful gazebo.

Even at night, the beauty of the plants is enhanced by the colorful lights.

Australian national Jeff and his daughter Jasmine also chose the garden for bonding time.

Besides the lights, visitors were entertained by prepared performances.

When feeling hungry, visitors can also grab snacks and shop at booths inside the park.

The design of the decorations is similar to the Christmas tree that will be set up on Session Road, inspired by the stained glass windows of churches.

Despite successive typhoons, the city government overcame challenges to prepare the decorations, finishing just yesterday.

The lighting for the entire park cost approximately 5 million pesos.

This is just a preview for the upcoming Christmas celebrations.

The Botanical Christmas Garden will be open from November 22 to January 2025, from 7:00 AM to midnight.
