BUGUIAS, Benguet – Team Buguias hopes to make it three straights in the same number of days when it faces Bakun, while Mankayan wants to make it four straight tonight here in the Cong. Eric Go Yap Congressional Cup.

Fresh from back-to-back wins in La Trinidad the past two days – Kapangan (56-53) and Kibungan (81-61) – Buguias hosts the dangerous Bakun which escaped Atok, 74-70, also last night.

“We are starting to gel despite no practices together. We now know our teammates, trust each now,” said Jan Earl Agayao after another brilliant performance Monday night to help Buguias rout Kibungan.

Venue is the Benguet State University – Buguias campus in Loo where Mankayan hopes to make it four in a row after four consecutive defeats against four of the top teams.

Mankayan has defeated Bakun (79-69), Atok (71-59) and Kibungan (77-67) only last Sunday.

Mankayan is set to face Kapangan which is reeling from back-to-back narrow defeats suffered against Bakun (66-71) and Buguias (53-56) and saw its flickering hopes for a quarterfinals slot dwindling with three top teams in their schedule starting with Mankayan.

Up next for the eighth ranked Kapangan (4-5) are Itogon and top ranked Bokod before closing with Atok.

Bokod remains and is expected to finish number one with 9-0 after a demolition job on Tublay last Saturday in BSU in La Trinidad.

La Trinidad 1 is at second spot with 10-1 after Saturday’s rout of Buguias, 90-74.

Itogon occupies third spot with 8-2 boosted by its 109-89 decimation of Tublay last Sunday.

Back-to-back wins last weekend against Sablan (88-79) and Bakun (92-64) puts Tuba in sole fourth at 8-3.

La Trinidad 2’s 82-60 win over Kabayan is at fifth with 6-4, which Buguias hopes to equal with a win tonight.

The Buguias – Bakun match is set at 6PM and the Mankayan-Kapangan setto is at 730 PM. Watch it live on Facebook. Pigeon Lobien
