A car overturned along San Luis-Asin Road in Baguio City after colliding with an SUV on Monday, March 18.

CCTV footage captured an SUV followed by a motorcycle and another car. Moments later, the car was seen flipped on its side along the roadside.

Witness Freddie Camrillo said he saw the vehicle overturn and residents rushed to help the driver out of the car.

According to Baguio City Police Station Public Information Officer PMaj. Marcy Grace Marron, both vehicles attempted to overtake, but the Chevrolet car, which was overtaking the Toyota Fortuner, clipped the SUV and crashed into a gutter, causing it to overturn.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. The drivers later met at the police station and reached a settlement.

Authorities noted that the area is accident-prone due to its downhill slope. Barangay officials have coordinated with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to install additional road safety signages.

This is the third accident reported in the area this year.

Authorities urge motorists to observe traffic regulations, check their vehicles’ condition, and ensure they are fit to drive before hitting the road.
