Chico River claims lives of 2 young girls, another in critical condition

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Two young girls, both aged 9, from barangay Bado Dangwa here, drowned in a tragic accident in the Chico River Sunday afternoon.

In the city’s Facebook page, Tabuk City Kalinga, the two girls along with another young girl, their relative, were with an adult when they decided to take a bath in the river at around 430 PM.

An hour later, a call for help was received at the city hall which dispatched a rescuing team who found the three girls. The rescuers brought the three to the Kalinga Provincial where doctors declared the two dead on arrival while the third is still under observation.

The report did not disclose the names of the girls or whatever happened to their adult companion.
