CHRISTMAS LANTERNS IN A BAGUIO CITY HOTEL, MADE FROM RECYCLED MATERIALS

Twinkling and shimmering, traditional lanterns capture the spirit of Filipino Christmas.

But this holiday season, Le Monet Hotel is showcasing sustainable lanterns.

Instead of using new materials, the hotel used waste items from their operations.

For instance, over 500 pairs of used hotel slippers were repurposed into lanterns.

They also created a miniature version of the hotel.

Some lanterns were made from onion skins, garlic peels, and eggshells, which were pieced together using staple wires to create instant mosaic art.

Even food waste was used for decorations.

This initiative aligns with the hotel’s commitment to sustainability.

Their efforts aim not only to inspire unity and love this Christmas but also to encourage environmental care.
