CJH Team 1 virtual Seniors Fil B winner

Camp John Hay Team 1 virtually clinched the Seniors Fil B title after upping its lead to 53 with a round remaining in the 72nd Fil-Am Invitational Golf Tournament Tuesday at the Baguio Country Club course.

Dai Tsuchiya paced his team anew with 26 points to lead the team to another flight best of 96 for a three day aggregate of 326 points to run away with the crown.

Former PLDT Northern Luzon executive John Marasigan was the main wingman after submitting 25 points, while former Cordillera and Baguio police chief Villamor Bumanglag carded 23 and physician Bayani Tecson added 22 to count for the team which leads co-host BCC Team 1 by a whopping 53 points.

BCC 1 submitted 85 for a 273 total to also fortify its bid for a bridesmaid finish over Filgolfers of Hawaii Team 1 which only carded 67 for a 253 sum.

Marciano Garcia led BCC 1 with 24, Edgar Montenegro and Edgar Basbas chipped in 23 and 20 points, respectively, while Ramon Aldana counted with 18.

The Hawaiian squad was led Ben Williams with 19 as they look now to a single point lead on fourth ranked Sandigan 82 Team 1 which made 77 for 252.

Team City of Vallejo Team 1, meanwhile, carded 70 points and remain unchallenged in Seniors Fil C with 257. Carlos Ventura led the team with 20 points which is 11 up on Sandigan Golfers Team 1which made 71 points and 246.

Fil-Am Golf of Florida Team 1 made 73 and remain at third spot with 235 points.

At the Camp John Hay course, MCG – Mimosa moves closer to the Seniors Am B title as it carded 85 points for 264 to hold off a recharged CJH 2 which made 88 and 252 points.

A1 MGC is a distant third with 233 after a flight best 105 best to move past Seattle Fil-Am.

In Seniors Am C, Mars Bustos and Edgar Dirige made 22 points, while Anthony Co and Jeffred Acop added 21 points each as BCC 2 had a flight best 86 for 227 points and wrest the lead from two round leader Solid North Transit.

Solid North made a measly 64 and now trails the new leader at 211 or 16 shots down with a round to go.

Davao Eaglemasters IIalso made a big leap by scoring 85 and 205 to take third spot from Chemsol – Flowtork which made 66 points for 206 aggregate.

Meanwhile, two holes in one were registered at the BCC today.

Ryan Tablac of thr Baguio City Golf Team did it at par 3, 110 yards hole number 9 using a Homma Sand Wedge and Titleist 65 golf ball.

Danilo Mercado of A1 – MGC, on the other hand, scored it at the par 3 180 yard hole 16 using a No. 7 Homma Iron and Titleist Pro Vi X No. 2 ball.

Competitions resume for the Seniors Fil and Am Championships tomorrow with the former teeing off at the BCC course, while the latter touring the par 69 CJH course.

Manila Southwoods is the round two leader after a mammoth 38 point game, a two under 67, from Junjun Plana Monday in the Fil-Championships, while Alpha Phi Omega Alpha Team 1 leads by 12 in the Am Champs. Pigeon Lobien
