BY: VANESSA BUGTONG

A 48-year-old construction worker was arrested Tuesday after he was caught firing a gun in front of an establishment along Rimando Road in Barangay Andres Bonifacio.

Police recovered two firearms from the suspect, including a revolver and an improvised shotgun, along with several rounds of ammunition.

When questioned about the incident, the suspect, who introduced himself as “Manny,” claimed he fired the weapon out of frustration.

“I just lost it because I got robbed at a shop here in Tabora. I provided everything they needed, but I ended up being the one who lost,” he explained. “I already reported it to the barangay, but weeks have passed and nothing’s been done.”

Manny said his intention was not to hurt anyone but to draw attention to his case.

“I pointed the gun at the wall, just here,” he added, demonstrating the location.

Aside from the firearms, authorities also found a packet containing what appeared to be dried marijuana leaves and stems in the suspect’s bag.

The man denied ownership of the illegal substance.

He is now under the custody of Baguio City Police Station 7 as authorities continue to process the charges to be filed against him.
