Cordillera, Abra tops 100 percent accomplishment in jabbing elderlies vs Covid-19

The Cordillera, including the province of Abra, has a 100 percent accomplishment rate in vaccination of elderlies against Covid-19, a top Department of Health – Cordillera official said.

DoH-Cordillera assistant regional director Amelita Pangilinan, during her visit at the provincial capitol this week, said that the region is one of the best performing regions in the country in terms of providing vaccines to senior citizens as gleaned from the 100 percent accomplishment rate.

Pangilinan, who visited all the municipalities of the province during her four-day visit from November 8 until 11 praised the province for jabbing 24,760 senior citizens topping the target set by DoH – Cordillera of 24,236 individuals belonging to the 60 and older age group.

Of this number, 23,154 are now fully vaxed.

Pangilinan thanked the Rural Health Unit of Abra’s 26 municipalities and the provincial government of Abra for the accomplishment.

It will be recalled that the provincial government gave PhP25,000 to each RHU as incentive for a 90 percent accomplishment in vaxing senior citizens last October 21 through the initiative of Gov. Ma. Jocelyn Bernos.
