LA TRINIDAD – Now it is their time to host.
After successful campaigns in other areas including Korea, virtually, the Benguet Dancesport Team will for the first time turn host in the Cordillera Dance Festival: Online Dancesport Competition on October 23 and 24.
The Cordillera Dancesport, Inc.-organized and Benguet Province backed event will be at the team’s base at Quads Fitness center where competitions in adult, youth, junior juvenile and Latin will be staged.
It will be streamed live on Facebook via Dance Results Philippines and YouTube via Dancesport TV.
The event aimed to “keep the dance floor heating up amidst these trying times” had its registration closed last October 6. It will also see athletes from all over the Philippines including competitors from Indonesia and other counters where 24 adjudicators, headed by Cristobal Rendon, will adjudge the best performances.
The team is fresh from their two silver two bronze medal finish in the 13th Cebu Open Online Dancesport Competition last September 23
Mark Gonzalo Benter finished second in the Latin adult male category particularly Grade C and fifth in Grade B, while Zenobea Faith Olayan finished with a silver in junior C (3 dance) of the Latin junior female category.
Olayan also finished fourth in rhumba (1 dance) and eighth in jive.
Mico Dumalos was third best in grade C (bracket 1) of the Latin adult male category, while also making it to the quarterfinals of grade B.
Eiji Justine Balao, meanwhile, also took home a bronze medal in the rhumba (1 dance) of the Latin junior female category.
