A delivery rider was injured in Baguio City after being hit by an oncoming SUV.
The incident, which occurred on April 19 in Barangay Upper General Luna, was captured on CCTV.
The footage shows the rider traveling uphill when he was suddenly struck by the SUV.
The impact caused the rider to be thrown off his motorcycle and land on the road.
Fortunately, the driver of the SUV immediately stopped to offer assistance.
Barangay Upper General Luna’s Punong Barangay, Tirso Baniqued, confirmed that accidents in the area have been an ongoing issue, despite the presence of road signs.
Witnesses to the crash described the SUV as speeding before the collision occurred.
The rider, whose age has not been disclosed, was promptly taken to the hospital.
The incident is one of several recorded by the Baguio City Police Office over the Holy Week, with 14 cases of reckless imprudence resulting in property damage and two involving physical injury.
Despite this, authorities reported that the overall situation in Baguio City was peaceful during the Holy Week, with no major incidents of theft or violence.
