BREAKING NEWS!

Did you know there’s a dog breed found only in the Philippines?

One of the commonly seen dog breeds in the Philippines is the aspin, but did you know there’s a dog breed found only in the Philippines?

Fur babies are often associated with various breeds, some cute and cuddly from other countries.

But did you know that here in the Philippines, we have our very own proud breed?

This is the “National” or “Native Filipino Dog,” also known as the asong gubat.

These dogs typically have brown coats with black stripes.

You’ll usually find them in the province of Bukidnon, believed to be ancient dogs that have been in the country for about 36,000 years.

They are known for their high jumping ability and quick movements, making them great hunters, which is why they’re sometimes called the “hunter witch dog” or tiger dog.

According to experts, these dogs do not interbreed with non-related dogs, maintaining the pure bloodline of their ancestors for thousands of years.

They are also respected by local tribes, who believe these dogs have the power to bring curses to those who harm or kill them.

Over time, they have become a popular breed in the country.
