According to Dennis Corpuz, a witness, “I could already hear the loud engine noise from the top, and then I saw the blue truck speeding downhill, swerving, before it suddenly crashed over there.”
Dennis, a guard, was among the first responders to the scene.
“When we got back, I asked the driver if he was okay, and he said, ‘My leg hurts, sir, but the ambulance is on the way,’” Corpuz added.
The driver and his two helpers were rushed to the hospital.
The driver may face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in property damage and multiple physical injuries.
A truck flipped and hit an electric post in Purok Dos, Barangay Irisan, Baguio City.
PMaj. Marcy Grace Marron, Public Information Officer – Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), narrated, “The truck came from Irisan bound for Lamtang when it accidentally hit a BENECO post and overturned.”
The accident caused a power outage in the barangay.
The BCPO’s initial investigation revealed that the driver was allegedly intoxicated.
Marron emphasis, “Based on his medico-legal report, the driver was found to have consumed alcohol.”
Due to the series of vehicular accidents in the city, authorities reminded drivers:
