BREAKING NEWS!

EASTERLIES, CONTINUE TO BRING HOT AND HUMID WEATHER TO LUZON

During a heavy rain yesterday in the town of Asingan, some residents were surprised.

The rain had hail with it.

This happened around the afternoon of October 15.

The hailstones were as big as marbles.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), this was caused by thunderstorms due to easterlies.

“In the morning until noon, it’s hot, and then by afternoon, we will see developments of cloudiness, and yes, we will have thunderstorms,” said Larry Esperanza, Chief Meteorological Officer of DOTS-PAGASA Synoptic Station.

but even though it’s the ber months, the heat brought by easterlies is still felt.

that’s why Aunt Susan, who always goes out of the house, never forgets to bring an umbrella to avoid heat stroke.

“In the morning, I take my grandchild to school in the afternoon, I pick them up, and if I have money, I go to the market. Because I get a headache when I get hot,” said Susan Dungalen, a resident.

but some tourists still flood Baguio City to escape the heat.

“It’s humid and somewhat cool, especially when you’re in the shade compared to below, it’s really hot there, especially near the sea,” said Cynthia Disu, a tourist.

This October, Baguio City recorded the highest temperature of 25.2 degrees celsius on October 3 and 6.

The lowest temperature recorded this month was 16.8 degrees celsius.

Although the country is still in a transition period to the Amihan season, the cold weather due to this is not yet immediately felt.

Additionally, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) expects to declare the onset of Amihan at the end of October or the first week of November.
