ECONOMIC, TOURISM, AND CULTURAL GROWTH, ENSURED IN PBBM’S UAE VISIT

Following President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s working visit to the United Arab Emirates on November 27, he returned with numerous opportunities for the Philippines.

In his speech, the president highlighted collaborations between the two nations across various industries.

“I look forward to the implementation of several bilateral engagements in culture, energy, and investment cooperation,” PBBM stated.

President Marcos also expressed admiration for the UAE’s advancements in tourism, which contribute to the nation’s development.

Additionally, the president extended his gratitude to the UAE for its warm reception and treatment of thousands of OFWs, ensuring stronger collaboration with the Emirati government to protect Filipinos’ welfare.

“We commemorate over 50 years of very strong and rapidly progressing bilateral ties between our two countries. I reaffirm the Philippines’ commitment to strengthen our natural ties and progress into new areas of engagement,” PBBM mentioned.

During his meeting with UAE Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President Marcos reaffirmed the Philippines’ adherence to international agreements, such as the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), to resolve territorial issues.

Both leaders also agreed on the need to enhance tourism and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

Sheikh Mohammed expressed hope that President Marcos’ visit would mark the beginning of a new chapter in the friendship between the UAE and the Philippines.
