Ex-cop wanted for rape, captured

BAGUIO CITY- A former police officer who went rogue and now included in the list of the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) most wanted personality was captured by members of thr Baguio City Police Office in Batangas Tuesday, March 2.

BCPO Director Col. Allen Rae Co identified the suspect as Ronald Salcedo Olarte, who was arrested by combined elements of BCPO Legarda; Crisis Intervention Unit; Regional Intervention Unit 14 of Philippine National Police Intelligence Group and Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group; Lipa City Police Station; Police Intelligence Branch of Batangas Police Provincial Office; and Regional Intelligence Division of Police Regional Office of CALABARZON around 7:20 p.m on said day at Balintawak Road, Lipa City, Batangas.

Co said, Olarte has a pending case for incestuous rape and arrested through a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Iluminda Cabato of Branch 59, Baguio City.

Olarte is listed in the DILG’s Top Most Wanted Person of the Cordillera Autonomous Region (CAR) with a monetary reward of P135,000.00 based on DILG MC No. 2021-022.

Olarte was dropped from the Roll of PNP in February 2006 and was the suspect in a rape committed on January 1, 2006 in Baguio City.

The ex-cop is now under the temporary custody of Lipa CPS pending his return to the court that issued the warrant.

Co lauded all operating units for their noteworthy accomplishments. He likewise stressed that Baguio cops remain determined to put behind bars all wanted persons without minding who they are.
