Patroness of nuns, education, and children suffering from seizures, this is Saint Scholastica.
She is also the patroness of Barangay Sta. Escolastica in Baguio City, where the barangay name is derived from her.
As a tribute to their patroness, the barangay commissioned a mural.
The mural was painted as live art, with the image of Mount Sto. Tomas as its backdrop.
It also highlights the colorful traditions and natural resources of the barangay.
In the neighboring Barangay Lower Dagsian, a new classroom awaits daycare pupils when they return to school next year.
The walls leading to the classroom were painted with vibrant designs, including handprints shaped by the pupils themselves.
Joselyn, a parent whose child is one of the daycare pupils, expressed her excitement.
The murals in Barangays Lower Dagsian and Santa Escolastica are the 41st and 44th completed by the Sinagi Group of Artists, led by Councilor Leandro B. Yangot Jr., this year.
On Sunday, another mural is set to be inaugurated in Baguio City, aiming to promote artistry in the city.
