Over 50 farmer and fisherfolk groups, along with cooperatives, gathered in Alaminos City for the grand opening of the Agro-Trade and Tourism Expo 2025 at Plaza Marcelo Ochave.

The event aims to boost the city’s agriculture and tourism industries.

Pangasinan First District Representative Arthur Celeste and Alaminos City Mayor Arth Bryan Celeste led the ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the expo.

The exhibit features various agricultural products such as fruits, vegetables, seafood, and handcrafted items.

In addition to product displays, training sessions and seminars are also being offered to help farmers, fishers, and entrepreneurs learn modern farming techniques, production strategies, and business management skills.

As the country prepares for the official declaration of the dry season, efforts are underway to improve irrigation systems in Mangaldan, Pangasinan, to address potential water shortages.

Representatives from the Department of Agriculture (DA) Ilocos Region visited Barangay Inlambo to inspect the solar-powered irrigation system, a project valued at 2.9 million pesos.

During the visit, DA officials also met with the local government of Mangaldan to discuss measures ensuring the smooth implementation of the project.

They also consulted with the Inlambo Farmers Association and barangay officials.

Farmers in the area expressed their gratitude for the initiative and hope that the rehabilitation will be completed soon so they can maximize its benefits for agriculture.

The DA assured the public that they will closely monitor the project’s progress.
