First Lady of Pangasinan, to enter Politics

Past two in the afternoon last October 2, First Lady Maan Tuazon-Guico of Pangasinan filed her candidacy for mayor of Urdaneta City.

This will be her first time venturing into politics.

Before First Spouses League Chairperson Maan Tuazon-Guico decided to run, she had already engaged in several community service projects for the people of Pangasinan.

Some of these included the immediate distribution of aid to fire victims in various districts.

She also provided recognition and assistance to centenarians across the province.

She has also visited public schools to conduct feeding programs, known as “Guicosina: Meals on Wheels,” for students.

Running as mayor, her running mate will be outgoing 5th District Board Member Chinky Perez-Tababa.

Their platform will focus on improving medical and mental health care, job creation, and urban planting systems.

Her husband, Governor Ramon V. Guico III, who has also filed for his second term as governor of Pangasinan, fully supports her candidacy.

“It’s my wife, I have to give my full support to my wife as she gave her full support to me when I was running for mayor, congressman, and as governor. She sacrificed a lot, including our family time, so I said this is what we need to do for the premier city in Eastern Pangasinan. And after we’ve done that, we can move on to potential new leaders,” says Governor Ramon V. Guico III, Province of Pangasinan.
