On October 4, 2022, Police Colonel Francisco Bulwayan Jr. assumed the position of City Director. After two years, his term has ended. Replacing him is the former Force Commander of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 of the Police Regional Office Cordillera, Police Colonel Ruel D. Tagel.
Tagel, a native of Benguet, is a member of the Sinaglaya Class of 2002 of the Philippine National Police Academy.
He led the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 from 2022 to 2024 and also served as Secretary to the Regional Staff of the Police Regional Office Cordillera.
From missions against insurgency and marijuana eradication in remote areas of the Cordillera, Colonel Tagel will now face the bustling city of Baguio. One of his challenges will be the ongoing drug issue, enhancing police visibility, traffic, crimes, and the 2025 midterm elections.
The turnover ceremony was led by Police Brigadier General David K. Peredo Jr., Regional Director of the Police Regional Office Cordillera.
Meanwhile, Police Colonel Francisco Bulwayan Jr. will now lead the Regional Learning Doctrine and Development Division of the Police Regional Office Cordillera at Camp Major Bado Dangwa in La Trinidad, Benguet.
