Police seized a .45 caliber firearm, two loaded magazines, three sachets of shabu, and dried marijuana leaves from an SUV stopped along Marcos Highway in Brgy. Sto. Tomas Proper, Baguio City.
The vehicle was flagged down during a PNP checkpoint around 5:00 PM on January 29.
Upon inspection, police discovered the firearm and illegal substances. When asked for documents proving ownership of the firearm, the suspects failed to present any, violating the Election Gun Ban.
The four arrested individuals include two students from Tarlac and two online sellers from Baguio City.
Their identities remain undisclosed as authorities investigate whether they are linked to a drug syndicate.
The confiscated shabu weighed approximately 5 grams, valued at over 36,000 pesos.
The suspects are now under BCPO custody and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 (Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and the Election Gun Ban under the Omnibus Election Code.
