Thousands of Pangasinenses have received free medical checkups, lab tests, medicines, and even cash incentives under the Konsulta Plus Guiconsulta Program of the Province of Pangasinan.
The program is one of the initiatives of Governor Ramon V. Guico III to expand public access to free healthcare services across the province.
Among its beneficiaries is 79-year-old Jovita Oscillos-Sombao from Bugallon.
“I went for a checkup because I had high blood pressure the other night. I got scared so I came here for lab tests, they checked my heart, ECG, and even urinalysis,” she shared. “I came here because it’s really hard to get sick.”
Nanay Jovita underwent several diagnostic procedures to monitor her health condition. All these services were provided for free under the Guiconsulta program.
“I didn’t pay anything,” she said gratefully. “It’s my first time availing this kind of free consultation, including the lab tests and medicines. I didn’t spend a single centavo. That’s why I’m truly thankful to Governor Ramon Guico.”
Under Guiconsulta, all registered residents of Pangasinan are eligible for free checkups, lab tests, medications, and health services.
The program also aims to reach remote communities to ensure that no one is left behind when it comes to healthcare.
With the continued implementation of the Konsulta Plus Guiconsulta initiative, the provincial government hopes to guarantee free medical services for every Pangasinense, regardless of their location or social status.
