With just ten days left before the highly anticipated May 12, 2025 midterm elections, candidates continue to campaign across Baguio City, presenting their platforms and plans to the public.
Among them is mayoralty candidate Mark Andrew Bandoc Directo, a new face in local politics who is actively visiting barangays and meeting with residents.
One of Directo’s flagship programs is focused on health care.
If elected, he promises to provide free hospitalization, medical check-ups, and medicines to senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and even single parents.
“I believe that health is a right, not a privilege,” Directo said. “We should not wait for people to get sick before helping them. If we can offer free medication and services, especially to the vulnerable sectors, then we are doing our job right.”
In addition to health care, Directo also aims to implement infrastructure projects that he believes will benefit various sectors and address long-standing issues in the city.
“Nothing is impossible,” he said. “If we know where to get funding and how to use it properly, we can accomplish a lot.”
He also emphasized the importance of collaboration with fellow public servants in the city government to bring these plans to life.
“I’m willing to work hand-in-hand with everyone,” Directo added. “Good governance is about unity and shared goals.”
As the election draws closer, Directo is asking Baguio residents to consider giving him a chance to serve, vowing to bring about positive change under the banner of #MaunladNaBaguioDapat.
