Benguet gubernatorial candidate George Mendoza Punasen has visited all 17 towns of the province in the first week of the 45-day campaign period, laying out his four-point platform focused on rapid response, inclusive change, tourism promotion, and education.
Punasen, who also serves as project coordinator of the Raffy Tulfo in Action Center Northern Luzon, began his campaign on March 28 in Barangay Lengaowan, Buguias, followed by visits to Mankayan, La Trinidad, Kabayan, Bakun, and other municipalities.
In his speeches across various barangays, Punasen emphasized the importance of consulting directly with residents to identify their needs, particularly in response to emergencies and community concerns.
He also vowed to push for reforms in the health, agriculture, industry, and trade sectors to help strengthen Benguet’s economy.
Central to his platform is the promotion of agri-tourism, highlighting the province’s natural beauty and local products.
“We need to showcase what Benguet has to offer. Our scenery and resources are among the most beautiful in the country,” he said.
Punasen also promised to support small local businesses and ensure that youth and aspiring learners are given proper access to education to help them reach their dreams.
With only 38 days left before the midterm elections, Punasen continues to campaign across the province, aiming to engage more constituents and share his vision for Benguet’s progress.
