GOOD GOVERNANCE, URBAN DECAY DISCUSSED AT BARANGAY FORUM IN BAGUIO

BY: JOSE ROBERT INVENTOR

As the campaign period continues, congressional candidate Engr. Isabelo “Poppo” Cosalan Jr. visited Barangay Andres Bonifacio to engage with residents and discuss pressing issues facing the city.

Cosalan, running under the Good Governance Alliance, highlighted his platforms centered on public service, land-related legislation, and transparent governance.

During the forum, he raised concerns over Baguio’s looming challenges, particularly the city’s outdated charter and the threat of urban decay.

Citing a study from the National Economic and Development Authority, Cosalan warned that Baguio may face irreversible urban decay by 2043 if no action is taken. “I cannot wait for another three years,” he stated.

With his background as a geodetic and civil engineer, Cosalan said he hopes to use his experience to address land issues and craft laws that would uplift residents’ lives while ensuring good governance.

“I believe that if we continue what we started when I was a city councilor, we can address issues faster if given the chance to serve in Congress,” he added.

Cosalan and the Good Governance Alliance vowed to continue visiting barangays to present their platforms and connect with more constituents.
