The government has assured the public that efforts to speed up the construction of transportation projects are underway.
Among these are the SM North EDSA Concourse and Busway Station, which are expected to provide safer and more efficient travel. Similar projects are also planned for Cebu and Davao.
For many commuters like 39-year-old Lany from Cavite, travel conditions have slightly improved, with shorter travel times to destinations like Baguio City.
However, she noted that traffic congestion in Cavite remains a major problem, especially when heading to Metro Manila.
“The train project to Bacoor will be a big help. Once completed, travel time will be faster, and it will reduce traffic and commuting hassles,” Lany said.
According to the Presidential Communications Office, the government is prioritizing projects such as the Metro Manila Subway and Davao Modernization.
These initiatives aim to boost the economy and enhance commuter safety. “Expect more transport infrastructure projects to come,” said Undersecretary Claire Castro.
The newly opened SM North EDSA Concourse and Busway Station in Quezon City is expected to improve public transportation by making it safer, more accessible, and cost-efficient.
The government is also set to implement similar projects in Cebu and Davao, such as the Cebu Bus Transit and Davao Public Transport Modernization.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has directed the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to expedite the completion of these infrastructure projects.
