GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEE, PROMOTED AFTER OVER THREE DECADES OF SERVICE

BY: VALERIE ANN DISMAYA

A senior citizen employee of the Pangasinan Provincial Government expressed deep gratitude after being promoted for the first time in her more than 33 years of public service.

Prescila Fernandez, 64, has been serving at the Provincial Accounting Office for over three decades.

Despite her long years of work, she had never received a promotion, until now.

“This promotion really means a lot to me, especially since I’m retiring next year. I didn’t expect it anymore,” she shared emotionally.

From her former position as Administrative Assistant II, Fernandez is now officially an Administrative Assistant III.

She admitted that she had accepted she would retire without moving up the ranks.

“I really wanted to be promoted, but I had already accepted that my position would stay the same until I retire,” she said.

Her promotion was made possible under the leadership of Governor Ramon V. Guico III, who has been praised by employees for recognizing their hard work and supporting their growth in public service.

“I was so happy when I found out. I didn’t expect it at all. It made me even more motivated to work, and my children were especially happy too,” Fernandez said.

Governor Guico’s administration continues to push for the promotion of deserving employees as part of efforts to strengthen the provincial government’s services and uplift employee morale.
