“Monmon Guico will win as governor. Mark Lambino will win as vice governor, and the whole Team Aguila will win.”
This is the bold statement of Governor Ramon V. Guico III as he filed his candidacy last October 2 for the position of governor.
In a press conference, he highlighted his achievements during his more than two years in office.
“Many of our programs are set for mid- and long-term completion, so there are a lot of initiatives that we started, and we want to continue and improve on them. First, we intend to complete the Pangasinan Linked Expressway, that’s a commitment from SMC,” Governor Ramon V. Guico III stated.
He also mentioned the success of corporate farming, where farmers no longer struggle with manual planting as with the help of modern machinery, planting has become faster.
Next is the continued recognition of the growth of the Pangasinan Salt Center.
“The Pangasinan Salt Center in Barangay Zaragoza, Bolinao, that’s the spirit, that’s the identity of our province, Pangasinan,” he proudly mentioned.
He also shared the success of the Pangasinan Polytechnic College, where 700 students are studying for free, and emphasized his focus on the health sector.
“Our Pangasinan Polytechnic College, we built this school to provide free education to our college-bound students. This is free, and once we get full accreditation, all the tuition will be reimbursed by the CHED UNIFAST program. Now, let’s move to healthcare. We need to improve our medical programs because, as a governor, you know you have to be a servant leader. It’s not about being a big shot because you’re a governor, no. I submit myself to national agencies; I humble myself to secure more funds, especially the MAIPP Funds, which provide medical assistance for indigent patients,” he added.
He promised that the provincial government’s assistance to the people of Pangasinan will continue as he stated, “That’s why when we create the IRRs, we make sure that no program is politicized. What I’m establishing right now as governor, with the help of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan headed by Vice Governor Mark Ronald Lambino, is something beyond us. It’s no longer centered on us. We will lay down all the fundamentals, ordinances, laws, and IRRs of our programs for healthcare, education, agriculture, employment, and salt farming. This is beyond us so that whoever sits as governor next, these initiatives will continue, and hopefully, the next generation and future leaders will improve on what we have started.”
Meanwhile, his wife, First Spouses League Chairperson Maan Tuazon-Guico, also filed her candidacy for mayor.
“She’s my wife, and I have to give my full support to her as she gave her full support to me when I was running for mayor, congressman, and governor. She sacrificed a lot, including our family time. So I said, let’s do what we need to do in the premier city in eastern Pangasinan. After that, we’ll move on to new possibilities and leadership potential,” said Guico.
Likewise, his running mate for vice governor, Mark Ronald Lambino, also filed his candidacy.
He hopes for a peaceful election in 2025, “We should expect a peaceful election. We signed this manifesto, right? The support for a clean and decent election, so we expect a very peaceful election.”
