A group of parents patiently waits at Melvin Jones Grandstand.
They’ve come all the way from Rosario, La Union, to support and inspire their children participating in the Panagbenga Grand Street Dance Competition.
Before that, they’re also set to perform during the Panagbenga Festival’s opening parade on February 1.
Despite the cold weather and strong winds, the children enthusiastically practice their routines, smiling as they dance to the Panagbenga Hymn.
For some parents, it’s an emotional moment as this marks their children’s first time joining the Panagbenga festivities.
Meanwhile, the Baguio City Police Office is ready for the month-long festival. Around 1,400 uniformed personnel will be deployed to ensure public safety.
The parade will start from Panagbenga Park and end at Melvin Jones Grandstand, from 1:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Motorists are advised to plan their routes in advance to avoid heavy traffic during the festivities.
