INFANT’S BODY, FOUND ABANDONED IN ECO BAG ON SIDE OF THE ROAD

BY: ANGELICA ARQUERO

A baby’s lifeless body was discovered abandoned in an eco bag on the side of a road in Baguio City.

A note was found next to the bag, urging whoever finds the infant to give the child a proper burial.

On Sunday, April 6, at around 2:00 PM, a motorcycle stopped on Greenstreet in Barangay Fairview.

Two individuals disembarked and walked toward the sidewalk, where a woman briefly paused, seemingly noticing something on the ground.

After a few moments, she continued walking.

Approximately 30 minutes later, a red eco bag was discovered with a piece of paper beside it. Upon opening the bag, the body of a newborn was found.

The note read, “Whoever finds this, please bury my baby, thank you.”

Barangay Fairview’s street sweepers initially mistook the bag for a dead animal.

However, upon closer inspection, they realized it was an infant.

According to the Baguio City Police, the baby appeared to be a female, about six to eight months old.

The incident is currently under investigation as authorities review CCTV footage and conduct interviews with nearby residents.

The police have called for the public to show compassion, urging those responsible to reflect on their actions and consider giving a child up for adoption rather than resorting to such measures.

The incident marks the second time this year that a baby has been abandoned in Baguio City.
