Baguio City remains one of the top choices for holiday getaways, and this year, several hotels in the city are offering not just good food but also staycation experiences that highlight the distinct Baguio atmosphere.
As the cool breeze of the “ber months” settles in, a new destination has opened near Wright Park, just a few steps away from the iconic tourist spot.
The newly launched hotel features modern facilities, including automated room controls demonstrated by its staff.
Guests can also enjoy soundproof rooms designed for uninterrupted rest even during peak season, along with complimentary snacks.
More than its amenities, every corner of the hotel reflects a story.
General Manager Rodolfo “Ompong” Palma II shared, “In 2023, we heard news from my father that he had invested in a building in Baguio, and from there, we wanted to contribute to its progress.”
Visitors will notice photographs and horse sculptures throughout the hotel, symbolic pieces tied to the hotel’s identity and the nostalgia of Wright Park.
Palma recalled childhood memories saying, “I remember, we the grandkids would go to Wright Park daily. Those were fun days.”
Inside each room, curated horse-themed photos, from large framed images to minimalist silhouettes, serve as personal memories of the owner.
Hotel staff member Eddie expressed excitement about the project, saying, “When I heard it would be the first luxury hotel in Baguio, we felt proud because even if we came from different departments, we’re just one family.”
Meanwhile, another hotel in Barangay Cabinet Hill–Teacher’s Camp is attracting guests with its buffet offerings.
Head Chef Roann said, “The main highlight of our buffet is the unlimited balut, and we also serve pizza.”
General Manager Ella Delos Santos added, “We have our Christmas Eve dinner buffet from 9 to 12 midnight.”
Hotel guest Thom shared his experience in a conversational tone, saying, “It’s really good here, so relaxing. The food quality is really good, the barbecue chicken, the fruits, and the desserts are pretty good also.”
City Tourism Officer Engr. Aloysius “Alec” Mapalo said these new hotel offerings add momentum to Baguio’s tourism this season. “I think there will be momentum starting this season, and more tourists will follow even after New Year,” he said.
With these holiday offerings, Baguio City is set to welcome visitors with fresh and memorable staycation experiences.
