Jolo native woman caught in Baguio drug raid

Policemen took a Jolo, Sulo native woman to answer drug charges after seizing 5 grams of shabu during an early morning raid at her home Tuesday here.

The Cordillera police’s drug enforcement unit found 10 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of shabu weighing more or less 5 grams valued at P34,000.00 and two used small aluminum foil believed to have been used to sniff shabu and a flat glass with visible shabu residue at the home of Maria Cristina Gestapo Layang, married, 33, born in Jolo, Sulu but is now living at # 65 Purok 5, Fairview barangay here.

Police said Layang was earlier arrested in August 2019 also for drug violations.

Baguio Assistant Prosecutor Oliver Prudencio, who himself administered the inventory of the drig evidences said, policemen were ordered to raid Layang’s house by Baguio Drugs Court Judge Maria Ligaya Itliong- Rivera.

It was not know however to what drug group in Baguio City is Layang allied with.
