KALINGA NATIVE, RANKS TOP 10 IN 2025 MEDTECH LICENSURE EXAM

BY: VALERIE ANN DISMAYA

A young man from Tabuk City, Kalinga has made his hometown proud after securing a spot in the top 10 of the March 2025 Medical Technologist Licensure Examination.

Orly Ganotisi scored an impressive 90.60%, earning him 10th place among over 6,000 passers.

Before reaching this milestone, Orly faced several challenges.

He initially attempted to enter Cagayan State University and passed the entrance exam for the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA) but did not proceed due to medical clearance issues.

Determined to pursue his dreams, he later received a scholarship from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and pursued a degree in Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science at the University of Baguio.

Inspired by his older sister, who is also a licensed medical technologist, Orly pushed through even during the difficult times of the pandemic.

He completed his internship before focusing on review classes.

Fortunate enough, he was awarded a full scholarship at the Legend Review Center after topping an internal qualifying exam. “That gave me the opportunity to review without financial burden,” Orly said.

He credits his mentors for providing guidance without pressure. “They truly supported us. Their excellence inspired me to become like them someday,” he added.

When the results were released, Orly was overwhelmed with joy. “It feels like this is the turning point for me and my family. I’m hoping this opens up more opportunities,” he shared.

To future examinees, his advice is simple yet powerful: “Keep reviewing, keep fighting. Make sacrifices for the greater good. Avoid distractions, and most importantly, take care of your overall well-being.”

Now, Orly hopes to pay it forward by mentoring aspiring medical technologists preparing for the next licensure examination.
